WHEN RUBBERDUCKING MATTERS: WE MENTORED THE WINNER OF THE BIGGEST IT COMPETITION IN CROATIA
Dominik Cveten is a senior programming student and our mentoree in the biggest IT competition in Croatia. For the purposes of TVZ MC2 (the name of the competition), he was developing ShareCycle, an app based on the principles of the shared economy. ShareCycle follows two simple principles: it is a platform that contributes to sustainability while encouraging inclusivity. Simply put, ShareCycle connects people's needs with the objects of their desires.
After exactly two months of painstakingly precise code writing, a lot of number crunching, many heated discussions with his mentors, and more sleepless nights than he wished for, the grand finale is finally over. But it was worth it. Dominik Cvetan is the winner of this year's TVZ Mc2 competition, the largest of its kind in the country.
We couldn't be prouder of this young programmer, who is only a month away from graduating. Dominik approached every part of this task professionally, systematically, and analytically. He had an answer to every question - and nota bene, his questions were so to the point that even our seniors were sometimes left speechless, which only happens every once in a blue Moon. Dominik could put his ego aside and listen to the advice of his mentors. He came up with new solutions and always appeared at meetings with fresh material. It was an honor and pleasure to accompany him to the top.
